Abstract :
Changes in the societal and regulatory environment are three constraints emerge for energy management in buildings. First, they must reduce their energy consumption, secondly they need to become energy producers to produce more than they consume, then they must be integrated into power systems that require them to participate in maintaining their quality of service.
The challenge for the energy manager is to meet these demands while providing the convenience of users. We’ll see how the principles of predictive control can be applied to develop as a manager and how the structures of hierarchical and distributed control can consider its deployment.
Finally we focus on the information that can be traced back to the ‘smart-building’ to the ‘smart-grid’ so that it becomes a full participant.
